Anna graduated with a Diploma in Physiotherapy from Otago Polytechnic in 1992. On graduating she spent 12 months working as a staff physiotherapist at Palmerston North Hospital before moving into private practice.
On moving to Nelson, Anna continued to work in private practice and later managed ‘Physical Therapy Nelson’. She completed her post-graduate Diploma of Manipulative Therapy in 1999.
Anna has enjoyed a varied scope of practice, including lecturing with The Order of St John, occupational health work with The Sealord Group and being physiotherapist to different sports teams including the Nelson Giants.
Having completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy I pride myself on having developed the ability to “feel” and get information about what is going on with a patient (client’s) joints and tissues.
I enjoy being ‘hands-on’ with clients, listening to their story and using evidence-based assessment techniques to reach a diagnosis. Once the problem is identified it is very satisfying working with my clients to reach their goals, whether it’s returning to top level sporting performance or comfortably managing normal daily activities.
Physical activity always features somewhere in my life. I’ve been involved with playing tennis, netball, touch-rugby and squash. I am a keen off-road runner and relish any opportunity to enjoy the Nelson outdoors with my family or friends.
